Richa Anirudh is an Indian primetime news anchor and one of the most popular faces of Indian television news.
Personal Life :
Richa’s birthday or date of birth falls on May 31, 1975. She was born in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh.
When she was just six years old, her family shifted to Jhansi where she spent the rest of her childhood. She did her schooling at St. Francis Convent School and Christ The King College, Jhansi. For her further education, she did graduation in science from Bipin Behari Degree College, Jhansi.
Her further qualifications include a 3-year masters diploma in computer software development.
Early Career :
In 1996, she shifted to Delhi and started working for SPIC MACAY and then she worked for DD-National and even hosted a programme called ‘Ankur’.
After her marriage, she shifted to Ajmer and in 1998 she joined ‘Dainik Navjyoti,’ a state-level Hindi daily of Rajasthan, as a trainee journalist.
In 2001, she returned to Delhi and worked for Pt. Ravi Shankar(the renowned Indian sitar maestro also known as the ‘godfather of world music’) as his Office Administrator.
She also did anchoring for DD sports, ETV Urdu. Later, she got selected in AIR FM as a Radio Jockey.
Career as an Anchor and Reporter :
Her career as a news journalist and anchor began when she joined Zee News as a News Reporter in 2002. In the year 2005, Richa joined Channel 7, as Special Correspondent and News Anchor, which was later renamed as IBN 7.
In 2007, she started hosting a Talk Show called ‘Zindagi Live,’ joined by a panel of experts, which revolves around real-life stories. The show is a platform for people who’ve faced adverse conditions to openly tell their story, their struggle, and how they fought bravely to overcome their problems. The show touches the audience’s hearts and also raises awareness regarding various prevalent social issues.
She also worked as a radio jockey for 92.7 BIG FM, where she hosted two shows. First one was a breakfast show called ‘Dilli Meri Jaan’ which deals with various issues from Delhi and the other one was called ‘Big Heroes’.
She has also appeared in 3 seasons of the famous TV game show, ’Kaun Banega Crorepati,’ as an Expert Advisor.
She is also the Editor-in-Chief of ‘School Live,’ a school magazine which acts as a platform for students of all schools to read, write and share their views with each other.

• In 2004, Richa was selected among 12 best anchors of next-generation across all the Indian news channels by Pitch Magazine.
• In 2005, she was honoured with ‘Best Anchor’s’ award by Ekta Mission.
• Her show ‘Zindagi Live’ has won the ‘Best Talk Show’ award by “indiantelevision.com” for six seasons.
• It was once awarded as the ‘Best Talk Show’ by the Indian Television Academy.
• The show also won the ‘Ladli Media’ award for gender sensitivity by UNFPA twice.
• In 2010, Richa received the ‘Amity Media Excellence Award’ for being the most promising young female journalist.
