Sharmila Tagore reveals turning down Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani after cancer diagnosis
Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore disclosed her battle with cancer during an appearance on Karan Johar’s chat show alongside her son, actor Saif Ali Khan. While discussing a role offered to her by Karan Johar in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, she revealed her health challenges.
Karan Johar expressed regret that Sharmila couldn't take the role initially offered to her due to health concerns. Sharmila explained that during that time, amid the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, she was unvaccinated after her battle with cancer, and there were concerns about the risk involved.
Although Sharmila couldn't be part of the film, she met Shabana Azmi in Delhi, who eventually portrayed the character, and they shared a pleasant encounter, as evidenced by Shabana's Instagram post.
Sharmila has relocated to New Delhi and resides at the Pataudi Palace, where she often receives visits from Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, and Soha Ali Khan. Recently, the family commemorated Taimur Ali Khan's birthday at the palace, cherishing moments together.
