The Lexus LFA, widely regarded as the best Japanese supercar ever made, boasts a V10 engine that delivers exceptional performance without sacrificing handling or fuel economy. It also boasts a carbon-fiber body and a carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer chassis with aluminum subframes both in the front and rear.
The Nürburgring Package was unveiled in March 2010, prior to a pre-production LFA clinching its third class win at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring race in May of that same year. This $70k option package includes a carbon-fiber front spoiler, front canards, and a fixed rear wing, as well as a retuned suspension, lightweight alloy wheels, and a 10-horsepower increase over the standard LFA.
The LFA was engineered by Lexus to handle like a dream and has an exhaust note that sounds like it could be from the underworld. The car’s performance is optimized and enhanced by floor-mounted billet machined aluminum foot pedals and a digital gauge cluster with buttons that are easily accessible to adjust settings.
It is equipped with a 4.8-liter 1LR-GUE V10 engine incorporating titanium connecting rods and valves, forged pistons, individual throttle bodies, dry-sump lubrication, and dual VVT-i variable valve timing. The Nürburgring Package models had their power output raised to 563 horsepower.
